Meet our Pro
Brad is a Bristol, Tennessee native, having graduated from
Sullivan East High School and East Tennessee State University. Brad graduated from ETSU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology with a concentration in Engineering Design Graphics/Product Design.
Brad began playing tennis at the age of seven, and started training seriously after acquiring his job at Bristol Racquet and Fitness (Age 17). Most importantly, he found his passion for teaching & earned his USPTA P-1 Elite certification in 2002 (now RSPA).
- Strong experience through running camps, clinics, sanctioned tournaments while working at Ridgefields Country Club (’06 – ’14), Johnson City Country Club (’14 – ’19), & Glenrochie Country Club (’19 – Present). He was able to grow the juniors & ladies’ programs at JCCC 900% & 500% respectively. Also adept at budget management, community engagement, & fostering report with families, players, & members of all ages.
- First in the area to seek out Pickleball Certification (IPTPA). Introduction to Pickleball at both JCCC and GCC. Brought in local Pickleball Pro Ty Petty for the introduction at JCCC. Teach the Teacher Workshop aligned Brad with some of the great names in Pickleball (Stephanie Shouse Lane and Corrine Carr). Pickleball at GCC has touched more than 100 members to date at the Club.
Tennis: 27 Years of Teaching experience. Produced numerous State Titles within local High School Players and helping many acquire scholarships & play at the collegiate level.

Brad enjoys teaching children and adults of every ability level. He resides in Abingdon, VA with his wife Vanessa and son Gavin. Vanessa is a licensed & registered Occupational Therapist who loves to help kids and seniors engage in favorite, meaningful activities.
