Meet our Pro
Brad is a Bristol,Tennessee native, graduating from
Sullivan East High School and East Tennessee State University. I graduated from ETSU with my Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology with a concentration in Engineering DesignGraphics/Product Design.
I began playing tennis at the age of seven, but did not start training seriously until acquiring my job at Bristol Racquet and Fitness. During my ten years working there, I was able to witness several different perspectives and styles of teaching by many of the areas’ tennis professionals. Most importantly, though, I found my passion teaching, so I sought out and gained my USPTA P-1 (Elite) certification.
Working at Ridgefields Country Club (’06 – ’14), I gained experience in running camps, clinics, sanctioned tournaments, and the dedication it took to maintain a successful program and facility. I learned to improve and hone my skills as a player and professional, demanding impeccable organization and accountability as well as teaching me how to gracefully grow and maintain relationships with members was also an integral lesson.
At Johnson City Country Club, I was enthralled to build a successful tennis program. Starting with only eight juniors, the program grew to over 70 participating juniors and the summer camps were just as successful. (30-35 kids per camp) JCCC has a strong ladies playing community, but I helped grow that aspect of weekly playing members also. Progressive play doubled in size from 12 ladies playing every Thursday to 20-24 ladies playing regularly.
